Raj K. Maturi, M.D. graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in 1991. In 1993, he graduated from New York University School of Medicine. After serving his internship and his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, he completed a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery for the University of Iowa.

Dr. Maturi joined the Midwest Eye Institute in Indianapolis in 1999 which is where he currently practices. Besides being a practicing physician, he is heavily active in research. Dr. Maturi developed, from conception to execution, a crossover clinical trial for the Electrophysiologic evaluation of retinal side effects of antibiotic using mf-ERG, Ganzfeld ERG and VEP testing. He also has developed the first multi-center, controlled clinical trial utilizing Ganzfield ERG for the evaluation of long-term drug toxicity for Eli Lilly. He has been the principal investigator in 19 research projects. He is a reviewer for Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, Eye, Ophthalmic Research, Comprehensive Ophthalmology Update, Ophthalmic Surgery and Lasers, and RETINA.

Dr. Maturi also has worked in academia as a volunteer Clinical assistant professor for Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Maturi is fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, and Telugu.
